Leviathan
05:03
|
|||
safe
deep forest the village has gathered
to hear the tales the elders tell
about
how they may live and who came before them
why they're here, what should they do
"don't be like the great sea serpent
whose words you should not interpret"
the water cascades down
leviathan
surfaces
and breathes
vile hate
and misinformation
to the shore
the children have run off laughing
to tease each other and to horse around
to climb
to the top of the highest of all the boulders
and pretend they are the king
a thunder bolt cracked across the sky
and what they believed never would arise
arised
and the water cascades down
as leviathan surfaces
and breathes
vile hate
and misinformation
"why do you seek
when you have it all
your fellow humans
were meant to fall
do not pick them up
just leave them there
for if they drown in shallow water
they'll never join me in the deep"
the sky crashes all around
as leviathan
submerges
the waves
hit the rocks
and pull the play kings down

13k
03:55
|
|||
our batteries are running low
the elders propose
the giant solar farm blimps
that float above the clouds
attached to the earth
like kelp in the stratosphere
we'll run at full capacity again
once "The Cloudy Years" have come to an end
but the children who don't remember
all of the heat waves
the floods the riots and the plagues
find a substance that comes from the ground
as if a gift
sent from the planet it self
to help them recharge their city sized batteries
and kick off a new golden age
until it crumbles down
for the 13th time
and no ones surprised
that it's all crumbles down
again
and again
and again
its the same human brain

The Boulder
02:56
|
|||
I walk this town
a skeleton now
since the wind took off with my skin
the consequence
of my failed attempt
to fool with the magic of sin
I left my heart at the boulder
where the ritual failed to take place
now Im all bones and sorrow
as I wander these streets
with no need to eat
and no flesh to keep me warm
there was leaves everywhere
with ice in the air
that stung my lungs when I breathed
I’d researched the herbs
the bat blood, the worms
to conjure the fabled disease
a potion of love
that will not give up
as long as my heart has a beat
I should have known
these spells books are prone
to mischief and deceit
I left my heart at the boulder
where the ritual failed to take place
now Im all bones and sorrow
as I wander these streets
my soul incomplete
and no flesh to keep me warm
the moon had arised
low in the sky
it was red, in the shape of a scythe
the book said i should
be deep in the woods
at a stone that was three times my size
it was covered in moss
With symbols across
a bowl carved at its base
poured the blood from the rat
tossed the herbs in with that
and grinded the worms to a paste
with my hands to my chest yes
i did my best
to recite the words real profound
then the wind gave a howl
I was blown all around
but my bones stayed upright on the ground
I left my heart at the boulder
where the ritual failed to take place
now Im all bones and sorrow
as I wander these streets
with no need to eat
my soul incomplete
and no flesh to keep me warm

Circles
02:57
|
|||
capable of so much more
she collapsed upon the floor
the frightening weight of the world
in an endless dark universe
oh how the time had slipped away
there was so much to do yesterday
there will stand a meagre few
who realize what they can do
to conquer all their human fears
that would drown the lesser seers
oh how the mind did slip away
there was so much to say yesterday

Little Chaos
02:48
|
|||
little chaos take me dancing
toss me round the room
show me life where id never look
give me something to prove
i can do
i can do it
stillness never seems to end
on my own i've tried
to build those schedules
goals and habits
but id be a lie
if i said it works
its that simple
with all this useless time
i cant do
i cant do it
little chaos get me dancing
throw me something new
show me life where id never look
give me something to do
and ill do it
i can do
i can do it
